Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is a sacred wood from the forests of South America, revered for centuries in Andean and Amazonian folk traditions as a powerful spiritual cleanser and protector. Its name, "Holy Wood" in Spanish, speaks to its enduring role in ritual, ceremony, and everyday energetic hygiene.

When burned, Palo Santo releases a rich, warm smoke with notes of citrus, pine, and sweet resin. Practitioners use it to clear stagnant or negative energies, invite positive spirits, deepen meditation, and prepare sacred space before ritual work. It is a cornerstone of limpia (spiritual cleansing) traditions across Latin America and the Caribbean diaspora.

Common Uses:

  • Space cleansing and purification before altar work or prayer
  • Protection and warding of the home
  • Deepening meditation, trance, and focused intention
  • Offerings to ancestors and spiritual guides
  • Clearing the aura and energetic body

How to Use: Light the tip of your Palo Santo stick until a small flame catches, then gently blow it out. Allow the smoke to drift through your space or around your body while holding your intention clearly in mind. Extinguish in a fireproof dish when done.

Ethically sourced. Naturally fallen wood only.
