Vodou Drapo of Azaka

Regular price $500.00

A Sacred Banner of the Lord of the Fields

Handcrafted in the living tradition of Haitian Vodou, this ceremonial drapo (flag) is consecrated to Azaka — the beloved lwa of agriculture, the harvest, and the working people of the land. Known affectionately as Kouzen Zaka, he is the patron of farmers, peasants, and all who labor with their hands to coax life from the earth. Simple in his ways yet rich in wisdom, Azaka wears a straw hat and carries a machete and a straw bag, embodying the dignity and resilience of rural Haitian life. He is called upon for abundance, prosperity, and the blessing of crops and honest work.

Drapo are not mere decoration; they are living vessels, sewn with intention and adorned with sequins and beadwork to capture and reflect the light of the divine. This flag is carried in ceremony to call Azaka forward, to invite his earthy blessings, and to honor the covenant between the living and the guardian of the fields.
