A Sacred Banner of the Sacred Bull
Handcrafted in the living tradition of Haitian Vodou, this ceremonial drapo (flag) is consecrated to Bossou — the powerful lwa of strength, virility, and unstoppable force. Embodied in the image of the three-horned bull, Bossou is a lwa of the Congo nation whose raw power commands respect and awe. He is the protector of the household, the guardian of fields and harvests, and the spirit called upon when brute strength, courage, and endurance are needed. Bossou charges forward without hesitation, clearing the path for those he protects.
Drapo are not mere decoration; they are living vessels, sewn with intention and adorned with sequins and beadwork to capture and reflect the light of the divine. This flag is carried in ceremony to call Bossou forward, to invoke his formidable strength, and to honor the covenant between the living and the sacred bull of the Congo nation.
