A Sacred Banner of the Fierce Mother
Handcrafted in the living tradition of Haitian Vodou, this ceremonial drapo (flag) is consecrated to Erzulie Dantor — the fierce and passionate lwa of motherhood, protection, and fierce love. Scarred and battle-hardened, Dantor is the defender of women, children, and the vulnerable. She speaks little but acts swiftly, and her devotion to those under her care is absolute and unwavering. She is called upon for protection, justice, and the strength to endure.
Drapo are not mere decoration; they are living vessels, sewn with intention and adorned with sequins and beadwork to capture and reflect the light of the divine. This flag is carried in ceremony to call Erzulie Dantor forward, to invoke her fierce protection, and to honor the covenant between the living and the most powerful of the Petwo lwa.
