Vodou Drapo of Maman Brigitte

Regular price $275.00

A Sacred Banner of the Lady of the Cemetery

Handcrafted in the living tradition of Haitian Vodou, this ceremonial drapo (flag) is consecrated to Maman Brigitte — the fierce and irreverent lwa of death, cemeteries, and justice. Wife of Baron Samedi and one of the most powerful of the Gede nation, Maman Brigitte is the guardian of graves marked with a cross and the protector of the righteous dead. Foul-mouthed, bold, and fiercely just, she is called upon for healing of grave illness, protection, and swift justice against those who do wrong.

Drapo are not mere decoration; they are living vessels, sewn with intention and adorned with sequins and beadwork to capture and reflect the light of the divine. This flag is carried in ceremony to call Maman Brigitte forward, to invoke her fierce protection and healing power, and to honor the covenant between the living and the lady of the cemetery.
