A Sacred Banner of the Keeper of the Crossroads
Handcrafted in the living tradition of Haitian Vodou, this ceremonial drapo (flag) is consecrated to Papa Legba — the first and most essential of all the lwa. Guardian of the crossroads, gatekeeper between the human world and the divine, Legba must be called upon before any other spirit can be reached. Ancient, wise, and often depicted as a humble old man leaning on his cane, he holds the keys to all communication with the lwa. Without his blessing, no ceremony can begin.
Drapo are not mere decoration; they are living vessels, sewn with intention and adorned with sequins and beadwork to capture and reflect the light of the divine. This flag is carried in ceremony to open the gate, to invite Legba to stand at the threshold, and to honor the covenant between the living and the lord of all crossroads.
