If you are canceling a previous working, name it specifically — what it was, when it was done, what it was intended to do, and that you are now withdrawing or neutralizing it. Place the petition beneath the candle. Dress the top of the glass with Confusion oil for enemy work, Crossing oil for cancellation, or a neutral blend — something without a strong directional energy, something that smells like stillness. If you are doing veiling work, add a pinch of ashes to the base of the candle — the color and quality of gray in physical form, the residue of what has been burned away.
