Every Knot Has a Thread. Every Thread Can Be Found. Every Binding Can Be Undone.

Imagine a long white ribbon, stretched between two hands. Now imagine that ribbon knotted once, twice, a dozen times, each knot pulled tight by worry, by conflict, by the work of an enemy, by the accumulated weight of years of things going wrong. The ribbon that was meant to flow freely is now a tangle. The path that was meant to be open is now blocked at every turn. The life that was meant to move is bound.

Now imagine patient, divine hands taking that ribbon and working it slowly, carefully, one knot at a time until every binding is loose, every tangle is free, and the ribbon flows again as it was always meant to.

That is the image at the heart of the devotion to San Deshacedor. The Saint Who Undoes, the divine power of untangling, of dissolving what has been bound, of patiently working free every knot that human hands or enemy work or the weight of circumstance has pulled tight. Rooted in the beloved Marian devotion of María Desatanudos — Our Lady Undoer of Knots — and carried into the Latin American folk Catholic tradition as a distinct intercessory force, San Deshacedor is petitioned when the situation has become so knotted that no human effort can untangle it. When what is needed is not force but the patient, precise, divine work of undoing.

The San Deshacedor 7 Day Glass Candle carries that untangling power through seven full days of sustained, patient, knot-by-knot working.

Traditional Petitions

  • Undoing knots and bindings — the central image; petitioned to untangle whatever has become impossibly knotted in your life
  • Breaking fixed conditions and spiritual bindings — dissolving what has been spiritually tied, bound, or fixed against you
  • Resolving complicated, tangled situations — relationships, legal matters, family conflicts, financial entanglements
  • Undoing enemy work and crossed conditions — dissolving what has been placed or worked against you
  • Marriage and relationship problems — the original Undoer of Knots devotion was specifically associated with saving troubled marriages
  • Bureaucratic and legal knots — when paperwork, red tape, and legal situations have become hopelessly entangled
  • Breaking generational patterns — undoing the knots tied across generations, the patterns that repeat and bind
  • General liberation — whenever a person feels bound, stuck, or trapped in a situation that will not release them

How to Work This Candle

Take a length of white ribbon or cord and tie into it one knot for each problem, binding, or entanglement you are asking San Deshacedor to undo. Name each knot as you tie it speak the problem aloud, feel the weight of it, and then place it in his hands. Set the knotted ribbon beneath the candle alongside your written petition, which should name each binding clearly: what was tied, by whom if you know, and what you need to flow freely again. Dress the top of the glass with Uncrossing oil, Road Opener oil, or a gentle untangling blend lavender and lemon, which cut through spiritual tangles with clarity and calm. As the candle burns each day, untie one knot from the ribbon slowly, deliberately, feeling the release as you work it free. By the time the candle has burned, all the knots should be gone. Speak your gratitude as each one releases. San Deshacedor works patiently. Work patiently with him.

Each candle is approximately 8 inches tall and burns for up to 7 days.
